Authenticity - Owning your choices as a whole human. Radical self acceptance and self compassion. Realizing people are multi-dimensional and the face you want to see them wear all the time is not the be all and end all of who they are. Going a step farther and acknowledging that other people have a shadow side too. We are not just our work life. We are not just our spiritual life. We are not just our family life. We are not just our past. We are more. We are whole beings having human experiences. Take a deep breath and integrate your mistakes as part of your learning and growth, they made you who you are today. Don't carry regret, but rather, carry a sense of pride that you encountered and overcame them.

Resilience - Bouncing back from the unhelpful decision, to hop on a better wagon. Refraining from holding yourself back with the concept of having failed. Taking into account that lifting someone up from an error in judgment can help them, and you, get past it. Noticing that making another attempt at success, in a different way, can be a stepping stone to move on from what didn't work. Take a deep breath and dust yourself off, moving into the future, thinking of all the wonderful gifts you can pass along because of your experiences with stumbling and learning the hard way.

Forgiveness - Letting go of the past. Not letting the past define us. Not casting blame or beating yourself up over something. Knowing that there is nothing we can do to change the past, but that there are things we can do to move forward in a way that honours the wounds of the past. Healing past transgressions without changing everything to bow to those wrongs, but instead, making a statement about the issue with an action that gives closure. Even going so far as to stand by the mirror and say affirmations like "I am sorry. I forgive you. I love you." And trying, actually making an effort, to choose something better or more correct for the next situation. Take a deep breath and hug yourself, accepting the challenge to improve your reactions to the world around you and within you.

Reframing - Taking a gift from the experience. Learning the strengths in our behaviours through practicing a non-judgemental attitude toward our actions. In this way, we can see what is helpful in a pattern and carry that part forward as we release that which does not serve us. This is also a matter of giving others the benefit of the doubt, when we see their true intentions for the ends they are attempting to achieve. Sometimes they themselves don't see the reasons for their behaviours, they only see what happened and what resulted. Take a deep breath and look at your mistakes with compassion and curiosity. Discover the need or desire that caused the flawed action, and allow yourself to meet it in a healthier way going forward.
