There are many "Big Questions" related to creation. And many attempts to answer them the world over. In order to be spiritually at peace, we must explore these questions and answers with reverence and awe at the miracle of existence. Whether you approach existence scientifically, intuitively, or as a matter of faith in religious doctrine, there is still an element of mystery. We only know our myths and theories, we were not there at the beginning.
In order to explore creation spiritually, we need to keep an open mind. Having an open mind does not mean believing every theory and myth that comes your way. It means suspending your disbelief for a moment and accepting each one as an individual attempt at knowing. In this way, we can develop a better understanding of or deeper faith in our own beliefs and theories by comparison, and we also expose ourselves to new thoughts and ideas we may never have had.
In some cosmologies, the creator generates the world from self-love. In others, it is a sound, a word, or a phrase that begins the process of creation. Some believe it is a cosmic event before any divine being is born that sets everything into motion. Some believe it is a cycle of creation, destruction, and rebirth that happens over and over again. Some believe that the universe itself is the creator, that everything is intelligently designed because everything is intelligent. No matter what you've heard or read or believed in the past, now is a great time to reflect on your theories and decide what their strengths and weaknesses are. Talk to your loved ones and trusted friends about what they think, feel, and believe. You may be in for a surprise!
In my opinion, creation is not an event that happened once, in the beginning, and ended when things were perfect. On the contrary, we are all co-creators of our reality. We all have the divine inspiration to make art, music, technology, babies, and so many imagined inventions and creations that never come to manifest. We dream up the life we want to have, and we set those intentions into motion as we move forward with our goals and ambitions. With every decision we make, conscious or unconscious, active or passive, we build our own circumstances. It is not where you come from that matters most, it's what you do with yourself. In my opinion, it is our personal power, our true will, the intentions of our higher self, and our connection to divine inspiration that drive us forward. We are all creators, artists, and dreamers. Perhaps it is my privilege speaking, but it is my sincere belief that we all have the potential for greatness, as our birthright and our destiny. Because even those who do not build a record breaking sky scraper or a space ship or the Internet, are probably supporting, encouraging and inspiring the next genius in their creative endeavours. So examine your role in co-creation, decide where you stand. Perhaps you are performing the will of God as you create your life, or perhaps, by choosing free will, you are participating in creation hand-in-hand with the divine source. Whatever you decide, trust your intuition and follow your heart toward your ideal life.
