So, what do I know about feldspar? I remember learning about it's density and composition in Earth and Space Science class, years ago. But is this relevant to any healing properties or energetic influences it might have? Apparently it is metamorphic and can be sedimentary, meaning that it is formed from magma and sometimes settles in with other types of rock. I have heard that the term feldspar means that it is a rock without ore in it, which makes sense because although it is shiny from the silica, it doesn't really sparkle. The peachy colour makes me think it would influence the sacral hara chakra, however, the colour is a blend; it is composed of a few different minerals which are probably interacting with each other in interesting ways. Some feldspar looks like it has tiger stripes (the sedimentary kind) and some looks like it has crystalline geometry, boxy edges.
So what does this all mean to me, symbolically, from a magical worldview? What would feldspar be sending out that attracted my attention today?
As for the moths in my home, I have begun to think they have a lesson for me. I have learned a few things about moths over time, and I do believe that our insect cousins can communicate with us on the level that any domesticated cat or dog can, if only we take the time to listen and observe. So what have I observed and learned? Well, moths are nocturnal, creatures of the night. I can't blame them really, the lure of the silence and stillness of the wee hours is appealing to me on many levels. Moths fly toward the moonlight, rather than sunlight. We often hear the expression "Like a moth to a flame" but there is no danger in following the moon. The moon is a symbol of women's mysteries, of reflections and illusions, and of course, the tides that pull us through our cycles of ups and downs. Moths are a lot like modest butterflies, being sometimes smaller and less colourful.
What are these moths able to teach me or tell me as they visit my home? How can I use the wisdom of the moth to better reach my potential?
If you have thoughts or questions like these about your own impulses and observations, great! That means you are listening to your intuition. Let it guide you. And if ever you need to talk about these interpretations, I am here to help you work your way through it.
May your wandering mind find a suitable journey,
