Jacki's Values (in no particular order):
1. Humour, play, pleasure and fun for it's own sake.
2. Love, kindness and compassion
3. Freedom, peace, some degree of safety, and needs being met
4. Learning, skill development, and critical inquiry
5. Support, kinship and reciprocity
6. Spiritual growth, healing and exploration
7. Sensuality and beauty
8. Creativity, arts and culture
9. Nature, biodiversity, environmental ethics and sustainability
10. Ethical food practices and experiences
11. Holistic health and wellness, general cleanliness, and capability
12. Virtue, respect, and honesty in thought, word and deed
Questions for Consideration:
1. Before I agree, I take a breath to clear my thoughts and I ask:
A) Does this itself honour (or put into practice) my values?
B) Does this itself stand up for, protect and/or nourish my values?
C) Does this itself help me share in the abundance of the things I value?
D) Do the consequences of this honour (or put into practice) my values?
E) Do the consequences of this stand up for, protect and/or nourish my values?
F) Do the consequences of this help me share in the abundance of the things I value?
2. Before I agree, I listen to my body and I ask:
A) Do I feel great, good, content, happy or better because of this?
B) Am I less anxious, less tense; more calm or relieved because of this?
C) Do I feel uplifted, hopeful, inspired, adventurous, or excited by this opportunity?
D) Am I fulfilled, actualized, proud, or satisfied by this agreement?
3. Before I agree, I listen to my heart and I ask:
Am I saying "YES" to myself, through:
A) Self-care and self-responsibility?
B) Self-awareness and self-image?
C) Self-worth and self-esteem?
D) Avoiding self-sabotage or self-sacrifice
4. Before I agree, I listen to my gut, and I ask:
A) Does this add value to my life?
B) Can I find the strength or meaning in this?
C) Is this mutually beneficial ?
D) Does this honour my boundaries?
E) Am I consenting, without reluctance, or (even better) with enthusiasm?
F) Is this going to do the least amount of harm to self, others and environment?
G) Does this further my goals or neutralize my challenges?
H) Am I curious about this and do I have enough information?
If I answer many of these honestly and positively, then it's a go...
And if not the answer is no!
