The stillness and silence between activity, while we take stock of what needs to be done and what has just happened. The importance of down time between social interactions to allow yourself to ground, center and clear.
How we make time and space to punctuate our days and cycles, for example with a short meditation, a stretch, a smoke, a nap, a snack, or a walk. Setting clearly defined compartments for activity; where one thing ends and the next begins.
How we can stop ourselves from saying YES to everything, setting boundaries with ourselves and others - not being so impulsive and spontaneous, but rather slowing down.
Allowing things to simmer on the back burner; organizing your work and filing it away for another day. Completing a chapter of a book and putting it down to work it's way into your mind through subconscious processing.
Turning inward and strengthening our intentions and wisdom - daydreaming, reflecting or going on a tangent of thought when presented with something new or challenging. Sitting with it quietly to allow a connection or solution to arise in your mind.
Taoism and Wu-Wei: non-action in the sense of allowing things to be what they are and not attempting to force something to be. Like happiness, or love, we can't make them happen unnaturally, we allow them to arise on their own, organically.
The conversation took some unexpected twists and turns, and it was a really deep sharing circle overall. I am grateful to be part of something so nourishing.
