I've recently come across the term "skin hunger" and then when I read up on Tanya Lynn Paluso's e-book How To Lead Circle: 7 Principles to Lead Circle, I noticed she mentions that pairing off for a massage swap or some other physical contact is a great addition to a women's group. I was inspired by that.
Methods of touch healing...
- the laying on of hands,
- some reiki,
- massage therapy,
- acupressure,
Have you ever experienced touch healing or learned how to heal by touch?
Sending & receiving energies...
projective hand / receptive hand,
- "the magic squeeze",
- massage circles,
- soothing someone with a hug or hand on their shoulder
- sending courage by holding someone's hand
- grounding another's energy by holding their palms facing down over your palms facing up while grounding out with your feet.
- creating human circuits or charging crystal grids
What are your thoughts and experiences around transmitting/projecting energy or accessing/receiving it? How about sharing it in various ways?
Reading energies...
Palmistry - not just reading the lines on the hand, holding the hand imparts more energetic information
Crystals - they may have been charged by someone, eg. with an intention, and by touching the stone you might infer something.
Personal effects - picking up on the person's energy by interacting with something they own and use often or that is sentimental.
Sampling energy - when we allow the energy of a space or person only to pass through our shields in one energy center, such as the head, heart or loins, or one of the chakras, or some other channel specifically left open.
Do you think we all have this ability to read energy? Or is psychic power something learned through practice, or attunement? Is it only accessible by some other gift?
Other physical contact in spiritual contexts...
Great rite - a symbolic or actual ceremonial conjoining of goddess and god energy.
Partner yoga and acro yoga - forms of bonding and trust building while in yoga asanas.
Spiral dance - hold hands in a chain, kisses not uncommon as you pass the other end of the line face to face, during the spiral.
