1. What is Bliss, and how do you identify yours?
- what is your process for determining what will be blissful for you?
And once you have an idea,
- Is it enlightenment or oneness?
- is it the fulfillment of desire(s)?
- is it the Good Life (health, fitness, happiness or joy,)
- Is it gratifying urges (for sleep, food, sexuality, knowledge, change, or an escape?)
- Is your bliss something else? (different strokes for different folks)
2. How do you follow bliss? Is there an alternative to hedonism?
- By setting and attaining realistic and achievable intentions and goals
- Having an awareness of your own values and practicing them in situations
- Lowering the impacts of your bliss-chasing on others, by focusing on reducing any harm.
- what other ways can you follow your bliss?
3. Why follow bliss at all? is it a waste of time? is there more valuable stuff in life?
- reducing your own suffering as a shareable model
- re-framing selfishness to the improvement of your quality of life
- pleasure-seeking behaviour as: increasing self compassion, self care, self awareness, self worth and self-trust
- decreasing your reliance on others to fill the void for you
- internalizing your locus of control = empowerment
If you want to discuss this topic one-on-one, I'd be happy to have that conversation!
